TUMERIC FACEMASK

So I was over in the office when one of the Fijian ladies walked in with a bright yellow facemask, she told me all about it! It’s a traditional Indian facemask used to brighten the skin, remove dark circles and heal acne. It gets so hot over here that I hardly wear makeup so having healthy skin is good. Apparently the Indian women apply it not only on their face but their body too if there is a special occasion coming up or they are getting married. I love testing out natural beauty treatments but I was a bit skeptical about this one! For one Indians and Fijians both have darker skin than me and what if it stained my face!? I know turmeric is very highly pigmented because it is used as a clothing dye and will stain if you spill it on your clothes so how would it go on my little pale face? After a quick google I found out it isn’t likely to stain your skin and if it does you can just rub coconut or olive oil on your skin to get it off.

I tried it out that night and the results were actually awesome, the dark circles under my eyes were significantly lighter and my skin had this amazing glow to it! Definitely recommend…. Be brave, try it out! Let me know how it goes!

What you will need:

3 tps Tumeric

2 tsp Coconut oil

Brush or disposable gloves (for application)

Small bowl

Directions:

Mix 1 tsp turmeric with with ½ teaspoon of coconut oil in a small bowl until it forms a thick paste. Not so thin that it will run off your face. To apply to the skin, use a brush or your hands with gloves on- again this stuff will stain!! Leave on for 30 minutes then rinse off, I used a cleanser afterwards to make sure it was fully removed.
